Windshield tint strip/eyebrow

Postby ChelsDS » Wed Nov 21, 2007 12:32 am

I need some help on conceptualizing an idea I've come up with for the windshield on my car. I know you've seen the cars with a strip of tint at the top of the windshield, but I want to do something different. I'd like to use some type of lace on the inside, dye it black, and have it somehow stay in place without being seen from the outside or coming off eventually.

Dye some lace black, or black lace, that might not fade from the sun. However, I'm pretty sure it will fade unless they've come up with UV protected dye (have no idea if its out there!).

Anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

I don't get it...you want to do that to your windshield and have the lace not be seen from the outside, or the stuff that's holding the lace not be seen from the outside?

Haha sorry! I was falling asleep when I wrote that.

I want the lace to be see from the outside and inside but not what is keeping the lace up.

Better? =X

That's what I figured you meant, but I wasn't sure :-P

I also read that at 3 in the morning, so my judgement was probably a bit inhibited.

Anyway, I have no idea how to do that.

Lace? I kinda dont know what your talking about. I mean ive seen the cars that have the top of their windshield tinted. But im not sure exactly what you mean by that.

But my best guess is to take it to a tint shop and try to explain what you want to do. Maybe they can help. :)

It would be like the black lace would take the place of the tint strip on the windshield. I was thinking of vinyl instead but that would be a pain to cut out! Or maybe a big decal? Think a big lace-lick decal would work?

Oh and by next weekend my car will be VERY different ;)
